Currently studying MBA (Master of Business Administration) and it’s like taking my whole life away.

I won’t promise anything, but I would still like to force myself to blog… maybe next month or maybe even at the beginning of the next year… we’ll see.

As many of you guys know, I’ve a big fan of NLY SHOES a quite some time and I believe that this label by Nelly.com really deserve some attention. You may have seen those shoes passing by in my other posts like here or here. And now I’ve been lurking on their new collection again and they really did a great job, if you love heels you should definitely check them out!

Here are my favorites from the latest collection:

One of the best things I like about Nelly Shoes is that they have shoes that fits any season. They are up to date with the latest trends but also dare to produce shoes that are haute-couture like. Which is quite a big investment since they take the risk to stand out but you never know how the crowd will react. But just by doing that makes their products really unique – which I really appreciate. Anyhow, if you really love heels and shoes – definitely check them out!

When the summer months finally come back around, one of the first things that we’re all keen to do is to rush out and put together an up-to-date wardrobe. Whereas the winter months see most of us covering up with a thick overcoat, the summer months allow us to flaunt all sorts of clothing on the cutting edge of design.

With trends generally lasting for only a short period of time, and much of last year’s wardrobe now seeming obsolete, it can be hard to know where to begin when compiling an outfit for the summer. Here, we take a look at a few options which are set to be fashionable, all summer long.

Detailed floral prints

Whether it’s a summer dress, a sarong, or a set of swimwear, floral prints look sure to be a massive hit this summer. Steer clear of sparse prints, shunning the traditional to make room for delicate and intricate designs.

Detail is key this season and the finer the print, the better. Look to the larger fashion houses for inspiration on print design and colour choices. The fine detail of your clothing should be offset subtly by plain accessories. Simplicity and complexity once again combine in the world of fashion this summer.

Flat-footed sandals

Any summer shoe must be airy and refined. This summer, one of the most popular trends looks set to be neutral colours, as seen in these Very.co.uk Dune sandals. Think simple buckles and no heel. When the warmer months hit, you’ve no idea what you’ll end up doing once you leave the house. Flat-footed sandals provide the highest level of practicality, allowing you to get stuck in when you find the competition rising at your local beach or park.

Mix & match bikinis

Swimwear is something which needs to be updated every season. The good news this summer is that mixed sets are in, meaning that you might not have to do as much shopping as you’d thought. Choosing a different set of tops and bottoms allows you to accentuate different aspects of your figure, and minimise the amount of time you spend in the gym shaping up.

Be careful to avoid clashes though. Whilst matching may not be in fashion, mismatching is never a smart option when it comes to suiting up for the beach. Look to create a subtle balance between tops and bottoms to find the perfect combination.

It seems like the warmer it gets, the more color my clothing gets lol. Here I’m wearing a neon dress I got from New Look for like £15. One of the best purchases I’ve done in months (beside the shoes). Oh and excuse my redness – inside the Fashionclash location (which was held in an old factory) they had red, yellow, purple lamps mixed together: thus the redness. I was also wearing this panty not knowing that it was THIS shiny, looks like I have the legs of Barbie haha.

Fashionclash is an event that brings upcoming designers, disciplines and the fashionable crowd together. They develop several projects in order to create a platform for ‘young’ and talented fashion designers and artists on (inter)national level. The last day of Fashionclash was an event full of antlers, plane wings, minimalistic clothing, neon, and a lot of black. Because the show contained so many different designers/ artists, every switch could make you go from “Cool” to “WOW!” or “WTF!” (in a good way). From all of the designs I saw I really have to say that Zohra Murad did a great job on her collection – it was clean and ready-to-wear. The name does reminds me of Zuhair Murad though, the top-designer that is famous by his dresses. This is a must see event for the creative ones.

Are you feeling the heat already? Cause I do! Been craving for those cold Japanese seaweed called Chuka Wakame for almost a week… lol excuse my Asian. Anyway, the weather makes me so sleepy – I couldn’t stay awake for more than 12 hours the last few days. And I’v been so busy again – I am planning to move out!!! It’s like being on a mission to gain freedom before I turn 19… no just kidding about the freedom lol. There is also another secret project I am currently working on and yes it’s fashion related. Beside this I also got the privilege to attend several upcoming fashion events (as a press!) like Modefabriek, which is like one of the biggest events beside Amsterdam International Fashion Week – excited!

So there is me, sitting in the sun with my favorite beach scarf ever by Matthew Williamson, enjoying the summer heat. And if you don’t feel it yet – listen to Cinnamon Chasers. ;-)

First of all I would like to thank Marlot Peeters of Gold Designers, one of the organizers of the event, for putting me front row. Gold Designers held on 3 May the first edition of the Fashion Event “GOUD”, an event for upcoming designers to show their designs. The event was well organized and attracted many famous Dutch people like Diva MayDay, Dewi Pechler, Kim Kötter, Giovanni Laisina and many more. I saw a lot of potential designers – it was a mix and match between basic and haute couture. Like the designs of Mariska van Stiphout what reminded me of the famous Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, which is a big compliment. The collection of Kavita Bachasingh blew me away especially when I saw the white layer dress, it was just perfect. My favorite of them all was Swinda van Dijk, she was one of the main reasons to visit the show. Since she was already in the design business for more than 5 years and already designed for big brands like SuperTrash – she really took the whole show to the next level. I enjoyed the show and until next time!

Anna Dello Russo, fashion icon and legendary Fashion Director, has designed a unique collection of accessories for H&M. Available in selected stores and online on October 4. Since we all know how Anna is obsessed with fashion and known for her often outrageous ensembles and multiple outfit changes per day during fashion weeks; I’m pretty sure she is going to put out something amazing. The collection features jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags and a trolley at H&M’s affordable price.

“I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M involves a Fashion Director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it. I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist I know accessorization is essential: it is the personal touch to any outfit. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day” – Anna Dello Russo.

Monique Désar decided to debut with her first fashion show and imo not an icebreaker. I believe the underlying concept was artistic and recycled. In my eye some dresses looked like she just put something together – The only dress that really catched my eye was the white one where the models back was revealed. In the end she got the Dutch television model Harold Dückers to end the show. There were so much things that could’ve been better, like a better DJ – he suddenly stopped the music because he didn’t managed to overflow two songs together? … and hiring a PR agency. It’s not that bad for a first show, but it could’ve been better for a first debut – bummer.
