First of all I would like to thank Marlot Peeters of Gold Designers, one of the organizers of the event, for putting me front row. Gold Designers held on 3 May the first edition of the Fashion Event “GOUD”, an event for upcoming designers to show their designs. The event was well organized and attracted many famous Dutch people like Diva MayDay, Dewi Pechler, Kim Kötter, Giovanni Laisina and many more. I saw a lot of potential designers – it was a mix and match between basic and haute couture. Like the designs of Mariska van Stiphout what reminded me of the famous Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, which is a big compliment. The collection of Kavita Bachasingh blew me away especially when I saw the white layer dress, it was just perfect. My favorite of them all was Swinda van Dijk, she was one of the main reasons to visit the show. Since she was already in the design business for more than 5 years and already designed for big brands like SuperTrash – she really took the whole show to the next level. I enjoyed the show and until next time!

Anna Dello Russo, fashion icon and legendary Fashion Director, has designed a unique collection of accessories for H&M. Available in selected stores and online on October 4. Since we all know how Anna is obsessed with fashion and known for her often outrageous ensembles and multiple outfit changes per day during fashion weeks; I’m pretty sure she is going to put out something amazing. The collection features jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags and a trolley at H&M’s affordable price.

“I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M involves a Fashion Director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it. I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist I know accessorization is essential: it is the personal touch to any outfit. Monique Désar decided to debut with her first fashion show and imo not an icebreaker. I believe the underlying concept was artistic and recycled. In my eye some dresses looked like she just put something together – The only dress that really catched my eye was the white one where the models back was revealed. In the end she got the Dutch television model Harold Dückers to end the show. There were so much things that could’ve been better, like a better DJ – he suddenly stopped the music because he didn’t managed to overflow two songs together? … and hiring a PR agency. It’s not that bad for a first show, but it could’ve been better for a first debut – bummer.

After loving their reality show “Modemeisjes met een missie (Fashionista’s with a mission) from a year ago – I was happy to hear from them again through an invitation about their new clothing line in collaboration with Lakeside. At first I couldn’t really put a finger on it; I guess partially it was the fact that I had no idea what to expect, all because this was their first collection. The collection was based on what they would actually wear themselves, reflecting their personalities: thus all glamorous. Everything was well organized by one of the designers’ (Tamara) own PR agency called “Silk PR” – Led us to the best place (along with the press) to take the best photos. I really noticed that they really put effort in the whole launch and I’m sure the clothing line won’t stay unnoticed.

Weather is getting so much better here, I just couldn’t resist to wear my pastel stuff…This week is absolutely hectic. Well I think the next 2 months… I have a bunch of stuff to study, a mid-term exam, working on my business, a shift at work every 4 days a week, a graphic design project, and a photo shoot to organize. On top of it all, it seems like my body is disagreeing with my super busy lifestyle – being always on the run makes me so tired. And because of all this I need to miss out many invites from friends to hang out somewhere. And sometimes I feel kinda guilty about it, like if I don’t want to make some time for them.. so I really need to FOCUS – Instead of reminding myself that I need to “FOCUS”… I really need to have an auto-focus function. Oh if only that was only possible…

Had this flash equipment for my DSLR for quite some time and still didn’t practiced with it. Shooting with it for the first time. Just wearing that Navajo pullover from Mango I posted earlier and some falsies from Dolly Wink.
